Storage unit cleanouts in Charlottesville

The unit is the property. We sort it, empty it, and leave it ready to turn back in.

Storage units around Charlottesville collect what would not fit in the house: furniture between moves, a parent's leftovers, holiday décor, and boxes no one has opened since the unit was rented. They also come with a facility deadline and a lock that is not yours to ignore.

A unit cleanout uses the same categories as a house. Keepers are pulled and can be moved or stored elsewhere. Sellable pieces can go to an online listing. Usable goods go to Goodwill and the Habitat Store. The unit is left empty so the facility can release it.

How it works

  1. 1

Send the facility, the unit size, and a photo of the door once it's open — or meet us there.

  2. 2

Sort into keep, sell, donate, recycle, and dispose before the unit is loaded out.

  3. 3

Move keepers where you want them. Donate and list what qualifies.

  4. 4

Haul the rest with Cville Junk Removal and leave the unit empty.

Storage Unit Cleanout questions

Do you need to be at the facility?
Someone has to get us through the gate and the lock. That can be you, a family member, or the facility if they will grant access. Tell us the rules when you book.
What if we don't know what's in the unit?
That's common. The sort happens once the door is open. Anything that looks like papers, photos, or valuables is set aside for you before the rest is donated or hauled.
Can items from the unit be sold online?
Yes, when something is worth listing. The rest still leaves the same visit so the unit does not stay rented while a listing sits.
How fast can a unit be emptied?
Most units are a single visit once access is confirmed. Say if the facility has a deadline — auction dates are not flexible.
